Body language 'is important in interviews'

People attending interviews, including ones for sales jobs, need to make sure that their body language is positive.

A blog posting on eFinancialCareers.co.uk said that an applicant's body language should mirror that of the interviewer.

Recruitment hopefuls should make sure that they lean forward and maintain eye contact, while not allowing themselves to get distracted by other things in the office.

"I always look at body language. I will also deliberately interview in a busy, shared lounge at our offices to see the focus of the candidates," the blogger added.

Job hunters, including those seeking sales recruitment opportunities, were also told that if they are faced with an impossible question then they should explain their thought process, as this could impress the interviewer.

Recently, employment portal CareerBuilder.com said that speaking negatively of past employers during an interview would not go down well with recruiters.
