Event 'to highlight AWD's effect on sales recruitment'

An event being held in the West Midlands next week promises to inform companies about new changes that could affect their use of temporary workers for sales jobs.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) will be running the event, which could see companies opt to hire permanent staff through sales recruitment services.

Hammonds LLP will be hosting it at its offices on November 3rd 2009 and will cover the way the new Agency Workers Directive (AWD) will affect the UK job market.

Tom Hadley, director of external relations at the REC, claims that these summits follow a large level of involvement with the formulation of the government's draft regulations.

He says: "There has never been a more important time for recruiters to come together and to share ideas and concerns. The next few months will be crucial and will help shape the future of the recruitment landscape."

Earlier this month, the government outlined plans that will see 1.3 million agency workers receive better conditions in the workplace, which could lead companies to turn to sales recruitment services.
