Sales job candidates 'should get help from friends'

People looking for sales jobs should enlist the help of their family and friends instead of doing it alone.

Onrec.co.uk, a recruitment advice website, said that jobseekers should get input from those close to them and even choose a job search buddy who can be updated on progress.

Another option for sales jobs candidates to boost their employment search is to clean up their online profile.

The website advised that people look at their details on social networking websites to ensure there is nothing an employer would not like, while also suggesting that a suitable email address has been set up.

"Get yourself a dedicated job-searching email address - you need to give a professional impression from first contact," the site added.

Other advice for sales jobseekers includes not applying for positions that they do not actually want or do not have the skills for as being more focused will pay off in the long term.

Last week student Mark Bowery, writing for Lincoln University's newspaper The Linc, said that work experience gained at university is another good way to boost employability.
