Holidays 'essential for workers in sales manager jobs'
Those in sales manager jobs should ensure they take their holidays as it enables them to focus better, the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) has claimed.
Mike Petrook, spokesperson for the group, commented that there is evidence to suggest those who do not take breaks can start making mistakes because they are tired and have not got the energy that they need.
He added: "Holidays are vital because what they do is they refresh your energy and they enable you to refocus."
Mr Petrook went on to say some workers are reluctant to take their vacation time because of fears of redundancy and the belief that 'out of sight means out of mind', alongside the more commendable reason of not wanting to let co-workers down.
Research carried out by the CMI earlier this week found that four out of ten British managers have not yet booked any summer holidays, with 20 per cent blaming an excessive workload.
