Firms 'should broaden employment search'
Firms should make the most of the talented candidates that are looking for work in the current economic climate, it has been suggested.
According to the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, job candidates should ensure that they have the skills and qualifications which are most likely to be appreciated by potential employers.
Vanessa Robinson, head of human resources practice development at the group, stated: "Employers can choose those people who they think are most talented and make sure that they are in a position to have the resources and staff that they think will contribute the best."
Ms Robinson went on to say that the amount of talent on the recruitment market means it makes sense for employers to broaden their search in order to find the best staff.
The latest Badenoch & Clark employment study found that the organisations in the UK are increasingly ignoring the basics of talent management, leading to a disillusioned workforce.
