Sales professionals 'remain in demand'
Demand for high-quality sales professionals is increasing in the difficult economic climate, it has been claimed.
According to recruitment firm Hays, having a strong sales force and an effective strategy in place is one of the best ways for organisations to trade out of the recession.
Kevin Dunbar, national business development manager at the group, commented: "There is a demand for field sales operatives at the moment across industry sectors for all levels of experience, particularly junior and middle range roles."
He added that demand for senior appointments has been more affected by the downturn but good opportunities remain for the right calibre of individual.
Mr Dunbar went on to say the demand for sales experience has become particularly apparent in the public sector, driven by government investment in the upgrade of its IT development infrastructure.
Last week, Marty Latz, founder of business training firm the Latz Negotiation Institute, wrote on salesandmarketing.com that sales professionals looking to increase their margins in the current difficult climate should seek to implement best practice rather than trust their instincts.
