Manufacturers focussing on converged IP solution sales

IP telephony providers in the UK are increasingly focussing on selling converged IP network environments, according to one industry practitioner.

In news that may be of interest to employers recruiting for manufacturing sales jobs, such solutions have been identified as rising in popularity.

Commenting on the issue, Tony Corlett, product development director at Azzurri, said: "All the manufacturers are now focused on delivering those platforms and have been for some time."

He went on to state that even some of the traditional hardware vendors, like Mitel and Avaya, are moving to becoming software vendors.

In other manufacturing industry news, a recent Monster Employment Index suggested that the sector witnessed high levels of online recruitment activity in June, despite an overall drop in such hiring.

Hugo Sellert, head of economic research with the organisation, said: "Demand [for staff] remains elevated in both manufacturing and parts of the service sector."
