Are sales jobs too frustrating?
Employees in the UK are frustrated by a perceived lack of agency in their job, a new study suggests.
Research by Hay Group indicates that 20 per cent of UK workers could be frustrated by the attitude of their managers towards decision making, in news that may be of interest to sales job recruiters.
Some two-thirds of British managers were found to create negative working environments, with less than half of all companies thought to deal effectively with underperforming employees.
Ben Hubbard, regional director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said that worker frustration poses a major risk to businesses.
"Business leaders must ensure that induction, development programmes and support structures are all designed to maintain the right people in the right roles at the right time," said Mr Hubbard.
A recent report in Online Recruitment by Jason Mitchell, director of global training support with Convergys, asserted that sales job training should be focused on customer needs.
