Traits of high-flyers identified
It is possible to identify future chief executive officers (CEOs) by their personality traits, a new study suggests.
Personnel Decision International has released a study of senior executives called the Pulse on Leaders, which highlights a number of attributes common to CEOs.
These include an ability to cut to the chase, a lack of passive aggressive tendencies and an ability to avoid micro managing employees, in news that may be of interest to sales managers with ambitions.
Simon Callow, managing director of the organisation, explained that CEOs need to get energy from their demanding schedules, rather than relying on periods of downtime to recharge their batteries.
"But you have to want to be at the top to be a successful CEO - this is not a role you want to fall into accidentally," he added.
In related news that could help applicants for sales jobs, Angela Baron, an advisor with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, recently said that language skills can be an advantage in the job market.
