Sales job applicants 'value corporate brands'

People in sales jobs are among those most likely to prioritise a company's reputation when applying for roles, a new report asserts.

A study by Kenexa has discovered that workers in sales jobs and senior managers place the most value on the brand image of an organisation they are considering a job offer from, reports Management Issues.

Jack Wiley, executive director of the Kenexa Research Institute, said that sales recruitment efforts must take into account the importance of corporate branding.

"It's not about each individual job offer – this research highlights the value of presenting and maintaining positive brand messaging to the potential employee talent pool," he told the publication.

Attracting and retaining good-quality people in sales jobs may depend on investing in attractive company values - such as profitability or longevity - and communicating these to candidates.

Meanwhile, a recent report in Business Zone noted that employee benefits packages may help business attract and retain employees in sales jobs.
