B2B sales line managers 'may need to up their game'
Line managers working in the business to business (B2B) sales sector may be interested in new research on employee expectations.
A Europe-wide poll by Krauthammer has discovered that employees are often disappointed with the performance of their line managers, identifying a discrepancy between expectation and delivery, reports Personnel Today.
On average, employees reported being satisfied with the behaviour of their immediate superiors around half of the time.
And while 70 per cent of workers cited a high level of trust or good relationship with their line manager, one-in-ten immediate bosses was said to be behaving in a way that could damage the performance of staff.
Ronald Meijers, head of research with the organisation, described the results as "striking".
"Like parenting, management is very difficult to do well and is both undervalued and undersupported. This is a mistake. Management is about people's lives - it is simply too important to neglect," he said.
