Manufacturing 'seeing high level of online recruitment demand'
The manufacturing industry witnessed high levels on online recruitment activity in June, new figures indicate.
According to the Monster Employment Index, manufacturing was one of the sectors that managed to withstand a drop in the index last month, in news that may be of interest to employers recruiting for manufacturing sales jobs.
Hugo Sellert, head of economic research with the organisation, said that while some employers are scaling back on hiring, not all sectors are feeling the effects of this trend.
"The availability of jobs online is significantly higher than last year and demand remains elevated in both manufacturing and parts of the service sector" said Mr Sellert.
The employment index dropped by four points to 177 last month, after a recovery that took it to 181 points in May.
Recent Webjam statistics cited by Online Recruitment magazine revealed that 60 per cent of university-based careers services recommend that applicants post their CVs on the internet.
